Join us for this free, interactive Know Your Rights training tailored specifically for the residents of Chicago and Illinois. Whether you are a community organizer, an immigrant, a student, or a concerned citizen, this session will equip you with the practical knowledge you need to navigate encounters with police and federal agents.

What You Will Learn:

  • Your Rights Under the 4th and 5th Amendments: Understand your right to remain silent and your protection against unreasonable searches and seizures.

  • Encounters with Police: What to do (and what not to do) during stops, questioning, traffic interactions, and home visits.

  • Know Your Miranda Rights: When and how to assert your right to counsel.

  • Digital Privacy: Your rights regarding cell phones and other electronic devices.

  • Documentation and Reporting: How to safely and legally document encounters and file a complaint.

  • Focus on Local Laws: Information specific to Illinois statutes and Chicago Police Department policies.
