Comedy for a Cause: Laugh Along With an All-Women Lineup To Benefit Chicago Nonprofit &Rise
CHICAGO, Ill. Sept. 1, 2025 — Local nonprofit &Rise announces an all-women comedy show to support their programs providing free therapy and support groups for women trauma survivors. The show will be hosted at Zanie’s Rosemont Saturday, Oct. 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
&Rise is an organization that’s committed to helping women trauma survivors find their & — the life that is meant for them beyond trauma. We help women RISE and flourish into who they were always meant to be. We provide one-to-one counseling, peer-led support groups and coaching programs. These services are free to any women in Illinois regardless of income, immigration status or lack of insurance.
The announcement will help spread awareness of this upcoming event. It will be a bit more laid-back than the Casino Night galas the organization has held in past years. There will still be fantastic swag bags, a silent auction and raffle items as well as a 50/50 raffle. Try your luck to win cash or some amazing prizes from our sponsors. These include a wine tasting experience from Wines for Humanity, tickets to shows from Remy Bumppo Theatre and RiverNorthFests.com, yoga classes from Move Therapy and Wellness and instructor Briana Murphy, and gift cards from Dark Matter Coffee, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, and Women and Children First Bookstore.
“This year has been full of exciting change and growth for &Rise,” said Jennifer Solarte, Founder and Executive Director. This year, &Rise celebrated their five-year anniversary and moved into their first permanent location in Sauganash. “Comedy for a Cause is one more way we’re stepping into our next chapter.” Jennifer is an entrepreneur, published author, keynote speaker, survivor and thriver. She believes that all women should have access to support and counseling regardless of their limitations such as finances or legal status.
“Aside from this being our five-year milestone, we are also holding this fundraiser so we can continue funding our free counseling and free programs for the women we serve. By purchasing a ticket, it helps give a woman a chance at a happy and fulfilling life after going through a traumatic experience.”

*Zanies has a two-item minimum purchase policy for all guests. Guests should be prepared to purchase at least two items (food or beverage) per person during the show.
